'SWAN LAKE'
MT FUJI is the tallest mountain in Japan and is a sacred place to the Japanese people. an icon that i just had to see on my visit to the country. We booked in to stay at a local ryokan (a traditional Japanese inn) on lake yamanakako. it was a 3 hour journey from Shinjuku Station & we arrived to the small village at night, so we woke up at sunrise to catch our first glimpse of fuji san. & wow it was beautiful! upon opening the sliding door there he was, standing proudly across the lake, the clear crisp sky showcasing the beauty, i felt so lucky to be in its presence. we soaked up this moment, i was definitely pinching my self. as we wandered to the lakes edge something magical happened, a pair of swans gracefully glided along the water in front of mt fuji and blessed me the opportunity to capture this special art piece, 'swan lake'.
